Are You Trying to Achieve Something That You Don’t Enjoy Doing?
To achieve something really worthwhile in life, you must be able to keep motivated to see it through to the end. If the steps to achieving your goal are not enjoyable, then it is unlikely that you will accomplish it.
We are all geared to lean towards pleasure and away from pain. It is far more fun to lean towards the good things in life! Set goals that you want to complete. Set goals that will be of real benefit to you. Set goals that will mean a lot to you once they are completed. When setting goals, ensure that your goals involve steps that you want to do, and that you enjoy! You must want to achieve the goal for yourself, and not because someone told you that you really must do this or that. If someone told you that you should study a particular course at college, and you weren't at all interested in the subject, do you think that you would graduate? Probably not. Think carefully when deciding what you wish to achieve. If you consider these points, you are much more likely to achieve what you set out to do!
1) Is this what I really want to do?
2) Is it my decision, or am I being persuaded by others to pursue this goal?
3) What benefits will I derive once the goal is achieved?
4) What will I enjoy most about pursuing the final outcome?
5) Is the act of achieving each step going to be as much fun as the enjoyment I will get once my goal is achieved?
If you take these questions on board when setting your goals, you will be much more likely to stay motivated and to achieve great things!
Are You an Achiever Or a Quitter?
In the early 1900s, a newly married couple opened up a tiny grocery store outside a large town. They agreed that they would put aside $1000 a year for the next 10 years. They would then have $10,000 in savings, which would allow them to realize their dream of buying a much bigger store in the middle of town.
During the first year, the couple saved hard. They made sacrifices and at the end of the year, they had $1000 of savings in the bank.
During the second year however, the wife began to complain that she never had any money to buy new dresses. The husband began to complain that he didn’t have any money to buy new fishing equipment. The couple started to eat into their savings to get luxuries that they really didn’t need.
The couple then agreed that it would be much easier to save $100 a year than $1000. Of course, to achieve their target of $10,000, it would take 100 years, but that didn’t matter. This new plan would allow them to afford the luxuries they wanted now.
The couple never bought a much bigger store in the middle of town. The wife died and was buried wearing one of her many new dresses. When the husband died, he was buried with one of his new fishing rods.
The dream of buying a much bigger store in the middle of town was certainly achievable. With some hard work, sacrifice, and with the support of each other, the couple would have achieved their dream. Once they had bought their bigger store, they would have been able to afford those luxuries. Instead, they turned their dream into a dream that was impossible to achieve.
Focus on what you need to do to achieve your dreams. Don’t give up. Don’t quit. If you truly desire them, then you will realize your dreams.

Positive Thinking – Do Something for Somebody Today
One sure way of making certain that you feel good is to help others to feel good. Make up your mind that you will offer to help someone in some way today. Think of ways that you can help others to ensure that they have a good day.
When you go out, decide that you will do something for somebody. Once you have stated your intention, you will find that many opportunities to help others will present themselves to you.
These will most likely manifest themselves in small ways. Opportunities will arise that will take you only a minute or two to do, but your actions will make an impression long after the act is done. Remember that is often the small acts of kindness that will make the biggest difference to you and others.

What about that mother with her children? Would she benefit from you holding a door open for her? It takes less than a minute to hold a door open for someone, but this may make a real difference to that person. By spending a short time helping, you will foster a much more positive attitude in yourself and in those that receive your help.
Helping someone does not need to take much physical effort. You will find plenty of opportunities where you don’t even need to lift a finger!
Giving a smile and compliment does not take any physical effort, yet they really do go a very long way in helping others to feel more positive!
Do something for somebody today. The effort needed will be tiny compared to the wonderful benefits that both you and others will get from your actions!
7 Sure Fire Steps to Achieve More in Your Life
Are you a thinker or a doer? To be successful, you really do have to take action to achieve what you want in life. Many people find this easier said than done, so here are some very important steps for you to take to ensure that you accomplish what you set out to do!
1) What do you want to achieve in your life? Take stock of what may be missing, or what aspects of your life you want to improve. Write down your ideas. This is the embryo that will start you on your journey to achieve great things!
2) Look at your list of ideas. Which of these would make the biggest difference to you and others once they were accomplished? Write down the top 2 or 3 ideas, and make a firm commitment to yourself that you will do what it takes to achieve these.
3) Now formulate these ideas into goals. What exactly do you want to achieve, when do you want to complete these, and how will you achieve them? Also write down what the outcome will be once you have accomplished these goals.
4) The next crucial step is to plan how you are going to achieve the results that you want. Just like planning a holiday of a lifetime, write down how you will get there, how long it will take, how much it will cost (in both money and time), and who you need to take along with you on your journey.
5) Once you have a clear picture of exactly what is needed to achieve your goal, take action! Ideas and plans are wonderful, but these will never materialize if you don't do anything with them.
6) There will be obstacles and setbacks on your journey to achievement. This is a major reason why you gain so much satisfaction once you have reached your goal. Stay fully focussed on the finishing line, and deal with setbacks and obstacles as they arise. Be persistent and determined. Have every confidence in your own abilities to achieve what you set out to do!
7) Once you cross the finishing line, you will have gained such an amazing sense of achievement. Trust me, you will feel absolutely wonderful. Congratulate yourself on taking control of your life and achieving your dreams.
As you achieve more and more in life, you will want to accomplish more and more. Not only will you reach your set targets, but the confidence in your own abilities will rocket!
Top 7 Mistakes that Prevent People from Achieving
There are many people who try to achieve what they desire in life. Unfortunately, many people don’t accomplish what they set out to do.
Here are some of the top mistakes that people make, and ways in which these can be avoided.
1) Sett
ing timescales that are impossible to reach. Often, people will set totally unrealistic time frames to achieve goals in their lives. Before deciding on a completion date, take careful consideration of your other commitments. Don’t expect to be able to devote 3 hours every night to a particular goal if you only have one hour of spare time!
2) Failing to write down goals. You must commit your intentions to paper to know exactly what you are aiming for. This also acts as a form of contract with yourself, and you are therefore much more likely to carry it through.
3) Setting goals that are not going to make a marked difference to their lives. Achieving is hard work, so you want to make sure that the benefits of accomplishing your goal will far outweigh all of the effort that has gone into it.
4) Failing to consider the true extent of the work that needs to be done to achieve the result. Before starting on the road to a particular goal, carefully consider what is actually involved to ensure a successful outcome.
5) Setting goals that are far beyond their own capabilities. Be honest with yourself. Are you going to be mentally and physically able to achieve your goal?
6) Trying to achieve something that they do not enjoy doing. A sure way to get your motivation plummeting is to attempt to achieve something that you hate doing. Life is to be enjoyed, so avoid setting goals that aren’t going to fulfil you.
7) Expecting far too much of themselves. The challenges that you set yourself should stretch you, but you shouldn’t be setting yourself up for failure by setting goals that will be too difficult to accomplish.
If you find it difficult to achieve goals that you’ve set yourself, start off with smaller, less demanding tasks. As you accomplish these, you will find that your confidence levels will increase, and you can set yourself more difficult assignments. As you grow more and more confident in your abilities, you will be able to successfully achieve more and more in your life.
Achievement – Do You Have the Belief That You Can Achieve Great Things?
Setting goals and achieving them is one of the most satisfying feelings that you will ever experience. If the feeling is so wonderful, then why doesn't everyone in the World achieve great things in their lives?
Unfortunately, there are people who simply don't and won't set goals and will therefore achieve very little.
Negative thinkers will often settle for going through life without much thought of trying to improve their lot. Indeed, they probably don't even care.
There are others who genuinely believe that they are not capable of changing their circumstances. They believe that this was the hand that they were dealt, so they just have to get on with it.
I find this incredibly sad. Achievers are people who understand that they have a purpose in life and that we are here to be happy. We are on Earth to learn and to grow and to gain as much experience as we can. We are here to reach our full potential.
Those who think that they cannot achieve great things and make major changes in their lives are denying themselves the right to genuine happiness. Take time to think of what you could achieve in your life to make your circumstances better, and to enable you to enjoy life more.
Make a list, and plan how you will go about achieving your dreams. And then take action.
Believe in yourself and in your abilities. You can achieve whatever you desire if you have the faith that you can do it.
I challenge you to think of something that you can achieve today. It doesn't matter how small it is, but the important thing is that you do it. I can assure you that you will feel good about yourself, and that you will want to achieve more.
Please don't let the days go by with so little to show for your time on Earth.

Mothers – The World’s Greatest Achievers
Bringing children up is one of the most difficult jobs anyone could possibly have. But rather than confirming what we already know, here are some amusing examples of what mothers teach their children .....
My mother taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE -"If you're going to kill each other do it outside- I just finished cleaning."
My mother taught me RELIGION -"You better pray that will come out of the carpet."
My mother taught me TIME TRAVEL -"If you don't straighten up, I'm going to kick you into the middle of next week."
My mother taught me LOGIC -"Because I said so, that's why."
My mother taught me FORESIGHT -"Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you’re in an accident."
My mother taught me IRONY -"Keep laughing and I'll give you something to cry about."
My mother taught me OSMOSIS -"Shut your mouth and eat your supper."
My mother taught me about CONTORTIONISM -"Will you look at the dirt on the back on your neck!"
My mother taught me STAMINA -"You'll sit there till all that spinach is finished."
My mother taught me about WEATHER -"It looks as if a tornado swept through your room."
My mother taught me how to solve PHYSICS PROBLEMS -"If I yelled because I saw a meteor coming towards you; would you then listen."
My mother taught me about HYPOCRISY -"If I've told you once I've told you a million times-Don't Exaggerate!!!"
My mother taught me about BEHAVIOUR MODIFICATION -"Stop acting like your father."
My mother taught me about ENVY -"There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don't have wonderful parents like you do."
Enjoy your day!
