Are You Trying to Achieve Something That You Don’t Enjoy Doing?
To achieve something really worthwhile in life, you must be able to keep motivated to see it through to the end. If the steps to achieving your goal are not enjoyable, then it is unlikely that you will accomplish it.
We are all geared to lean towards pleasure and away from pain. It is far more fun to lean towards the good things in life! Set goals that you want to complete. Set goals that will be of real benefit to you. Set goals that will mean a lot to you once they are completed. When setting goals, ensure that your goals involve steps that you want to do, and that you enjoy! You must want to achieve the goal for yourself, and not because someone told you that you really must do this or that. If someone told you that you should study a particular course at college, and you weren't at all interested in the subject, do you think that you would graduate? Probably not. Think carefully when deciding what you wish to achieve. If you consider these points, you are much more likely to achieve what you set out to do!
1) Is this what I really want to do?
2) Is it my decision, or am I being persuaded by others to pursue this goal?
3) What benefits will I derive once the goal is achieved?
4) What will I enjoy most about pursuing the final outcome?
5) Is the act of achieving each step going to be as much fun as the enjoyment I will get once my goal is achieved?
If you take these questions on board when setting your goals, you will be much more likely to stay motivated and to achieve great things!
Develop a More Positive Attitude by Looking at the Beauty Around You
Everyone seems to be in such a rush going here and there. Slow down. This world is an amazing place! Look around you. Whether you are looking at trees, flowers, people or buildings, all of these have been created.
Take in the sights, listen to all of the wonderful sounds, and feel the warm sun or wind on your face.
Instead of taking everything you see for granted, take some time to really look, think and become more curious about everything around you!

Be amazed at all of the vibrant colors you see. Why are there so many colors? What if everything was just black and white?
Be amazed at the sheer height of buildings, and wonder how people managed to construct them. When were they built, and how long did it take?
Be amazed at the shapes of the flowers you see in the park. Look closely at the petals and leaves. Notice how perfectly formed they are. Why is this particular flower pink, yet the one over there is yellow?
Look up at the sky. Beyond the clouds, you can see the sun. At night, we see the moon and the stars. These objects are so far away, yet you can see them!
Look up at the stars, and try to appreciate how distant these tiny dots of light actually are.
Watch a river flowing by, or watch waves crashing against the shore. Appreciate the power in the water and realize how water and wind has helped shape the landscape.
Walk along a crowded street and notice how unique every person is. There are millions and millions of people on the Earth, yet everyone is an individual.
When you get home, take a long look in the mirror and see how unique you are. Be thankful for who you are, and what you are able to do.
Everything on the Earth is truly amazing!
Are You an Achiever Or a Quitter?
In the early 1900s, a newly married couple opened up a tiny grocery store outside a large town. They agreed that they would put aside $1000 a year for the next 10 years. They would then have $10,000 in savings, which would allow them to realize their dream of buying a much bigger store in the middle of town.
During the first year, the couple saved hard. They made sacrifices and at the end of the year, they had $1000 of savings in the bank.
During the second year however, the wife began to complain that she never had any money to buy new dresses. The husband began to complain that he didn’t have any money to buy new fishing equipment. The couple started to eat into their savings to get luxuries that they really didn’t need.
The couple then agreed that it would be much easier to save $100 a year than $1000. Of course, to achieve their target of $10,000, it would take 100 years, but that didn’t matter. This new plan would allow them to afford the luxuries they wanted now.
The couple never bought a much bigger store in the middle of town. The wife died and was buried wearing one of her many new dresses. When the husband died, he was buried with one of his new fishing rods.
The dream of buying a much bigger store in the middle of town was certainly achievable. With some hard work, sacrifice, and with the support of each other, the couple would have achieved their dream. Once they had bought their bigger store, they would have been able to afford those luxuries. Instead, they turned their dream into a dream that was impossible to achieve.
Focus on what you need to do to achieve your dreams. Don’t give up. Don’t quit. If you truly desire them, then you will realize your dreams.

Your Subconscious Mind Knows Everything ……..
Your subconscious mind is a vast storage area of everything that you have ever learned and has a solution to any problem that you may have.
Recall a time when you were trying to remember someone’s name. It has totally escaped you. You give up trying to remember it, and you may well tell yourself that it will come to you eventually. And what happens? Hours later, the name suddenly springs to your mind. How did that happen?
When you are trying to remember a particular fact, your subconscious is alerted to your plight. It will go off and carry out the task of searching through its memory banks for the person’s name. Your subconscious will let you know the answer as soon as it is retrieved. That explains why you might be in the middle of doing something quite unrelated, like cooking dinner, when the name comes to mind.
Unlike the conscious mind, your subconscious is not able to reason or to use logic to decide whether what you are telling it is true or false. It just accepts whatever you tell it as fact, whether it is right or wrong. This is where the subconscious mind comes into its own. Tell your subconscious something, and if you do it often enough, the subconscious will believe it is true.
If you continually bombard your subconscious with your own belief system, then it takes all that you tell it on board. If you keep telling yourself that you can’t do something, well guess what? Your subconscious believes that this is fact.
Negative Thinking – 7 Tips to Change Your Mind and Think More Positively
If you find yourself thinking negatively, you really must do what you can to change your thoughts! Negative thinking will place you on a downwards spiral, and it will most certainly rub off on other people.
Here are 7 of my tips to help you think more positively!
1) Stop what you are doing and sit down. Grab a piece of paper and write down what is causing you to think negatively. Be specific and put your thoughts down in detail.
2) Is it a particular situation or person that is causing the problem? Think about it in depth. Is it really your fault that you find yourself in this predicament? Often bad situations are caused by events outwith your control.
3) Try to identify other causes for the problem. Don't blame yourself! If you spend time thinking about it, you are bound to discover outside influences that contributed to the situation.
4) Once you are able to confirm that these events have occurred due to something outwith your control, you are then able to stand back and stop pointing the finger of blame at yourself. This will be a major breakthrough as far as your thinking is concerned.
5) Review your circumstances again. Identify the positive aspects of the situation. There will be at least one. List every positive aspect you can think of. You should now be thinking of your situation much more positively.
6) What problems still exist with your situation? Work out ways in which you will solve that problem. And of course, ensure that you take action!
7) By addressing these remaining issues, you should be able to turn what was once a negative event into a much more positive experience. You will have learned a great deal from it, and add it to your life experiences!
When you find yourself thinking negatively, identify the causes that were outwith your control. Then take control of the situation by finding a solution to the problem. Nothing in life is truly insurmountable - you just need to take time to look at it more closely and find a solution!

Your Conscious Mind
The person you are is not determined by what you look like, but how you think and how you choose to live your life. It is crucial to understand that your body is merely a container for your brain, which holds your mind, your soul, your spirit. It is not the container that is most important, but what is held within. If you are buying a jar of jam, it is not the jar that determines the quality of the jam, but the jam itself.
The most important part of us, as human beings, is our mind. Our mind determines our thoughts and ideas, and subsequently our actions. The human mind however is so complex, and we still have so much to discover and understand about it. The mind remains one of the biggest mysteries in our world.
The mind has 2 distinct parts to it – the conscious and the subconscious mind.
Let us first talk about the conscious mind. The conscious mind is the part of our minds that we are aware of. We use it to think, to wonder, and to reason. We use it to work out problems and to analyze situations. This part of our mind allows us to generate new ideas and to communicate with others.
It cannot be emphasized enough that the most powerful possession that you have is your ability to choose. This is, without doubt, your greatest gift.
You can choose what you want to be.
You can choose what you want to do.
You can choose what you want to have.
In fact, you have the ability to choose your own future. So, it is up to you to decide what you want to achieve!
Choose to Be Positive
No matter what we do in life, we are always faced with a choice. Everything we do in a day, and all of the results of our actions during that day, all depend on choices that we make.
We choose what we will eat for lunch. We choose what movie we will watch on TV. We choose what clothes we will wear. Our lives are full of continually having to choose!
So, if you had the choice of having a good day or a bad day, which would you pick? I strongly suspect that you would want to have a wonderfully happy day! But is it possible to choose what sort of day that you will have?
It certainly is. When you wake up in the morning, choose to have a positive day!

Tell yourself that you will have a good day.
Tell yourself that everything will go well.
By deciding to have a positive day, and telling yourself that you will, this goes a very long way in ensuring that it will happen!
If you find it difficult to think positively, write down a list of 20 or so positive words, and read them. Every morning, reread the list, and go through the list again during the day as needed.
Listen to uplifting music that will make you feel good. Listen to talks on audio CDs that will inspire you to do more in your life. Watch movies that will motivate you to think positively and to achieve great things.
Feed your mind with positive words, sights and sounds! Your subconscious will feast on this positive nourishment, and your mind will work hard to ensure that you have a positive day!
